Chino Deck Repair Coating
A week or so ago we traveled to San Bernadino County and serviced a deck in Chino. This medium sized deck had a few small repairs, some worn flashing, before we installed our Crete deck repair coating system.
Dry Rot Repair. We first removed the dry-rotted plywood section of the deck. We then installed 3/4 inch exterior grade plywood sheeting in order to prepare for the deck waterproofing membrane system.
Stucco Removal and Repair. This deck repair coating had a tiny bit of stucco that needed to be removed because of unusable
diato/combo metal flashing. The bottom 8 inches of the stucco was removed and replaced for installation of the Diato/Combo metal.
Flashing. The Diato/Combo metal flashing was installed along the deck to wall transition, incorporating the stucco screed. This is to make sure the wall will be prepared for stucco when we are done. Even though this was only 1 linear ft of repair, we made sure that this Chino deck repair coating had no chance of water leaking!
Because this deck had damaged drip edge flashing, we installed 12 linear ft of metal along the perimeter of the deck.
The Crete Deck Repair Coating System. We installed The Crete deck coating system. This is a multi-layer waterproofing membrane designed for use over plywood subfloors.
A basic scope of our deck repair coating work is as follows:
-Staple down 2.5 galvanized metal diamond lathe
-Trowel down cementitious base coat with a Desert Brand polymer additive.
-Laminate using fiberglass matting & Desert Brand acrylic resin (Bonder 480)
-Trowel down an additional layer of our cementitious base coat
-Spray texture (Knockdown/Orangepeel)
-Seal using fortified concrete paint
